Bonuses worth $1000 will be given to winning connections in all $5000 races in Victoria in May and June.

Harness Racing Victoria CEO David Martin joined the HQ podcast to make the announcement.

"We've had a year that we can look back on now and say it's an improved performance on where we were the previous year," Mr Martin said.

"It's been a lot of hard work put in by people across the industry and the participants have really worked with HRV, and so it's a chance to thank people for their contribution in a small way."

Mr Martin also touched on the 2018-19 racing calendar and his forthcoming CEO roadshow during the podcast.
