The harness racing spotlight will be firmly fixed on the Devonport Paceway tonight for the running of the $30,000 Hardings Hotmix Devonport Cup.

The exciting 10-event card also features the Tasfreight Dash For Cash and the Jeremy Rockliff MP Coastal Pacing Thousand Final.

The Cup, over 3020-metres, has drawn together a quality field with four backmarkers coming from the 10-metre handicap, 2016  Easter Cup winner Riverboat Jasper, Roger Ramjet, Remember Joe and Modern Ruler.

Three stables will have dual representation in the final field of twelve.

Matty Dwyer’s Queens Advocate has drawn favourably inside the front line and has the services of leading driver Gareth Rattray while Jack Laugher will follow the stablemate through with The Majority from inside the second line.

Local trainer Steven Davis will partner Modern Ruler from outside the 10-metre line with Paul Hill given the job in gate two with the stablemate Black Centurian.

Rohan Hadley takes the drive on Rohan Hillier’s St Marys Cup winner Solid As A Rock (pictured) while Hillier has chosen to stick with Dapper Dana.

Matthew Cooper’s Call Her Julie ran a sensational second to Mr Lennox in the Triple M Hobart Pacing Cup at its most recent outing while Remeber Joe did all the work in the same race to finish a close sixth for Juanita McKenzie before going down by a head when second to Destreos in Launceston.

The Dash For Cash promises to be a thrilling affair with last week’s Burnie Cup winner Hez The One looking for back-to-back wins for trainer-driver Mark Yole.

All Style Sammy, Rockin An Runnin and Chilla Breeze are expected to run the popular picks in the 1930-metre sprint while the Troy Hillier-prepared Illegal Immigrant will attempt to keep its unbeaten record in Tasmania intact in the Coastal Pacing Thousand Final and make it four wins from four starts.

The Paul Williams-trained and driven Metro Digby has drawn the pole in the final and is likely to be the favourite with last-start winners Long Ago and Ready to Fire at double-figure odds as are the consistent performers Goggo Gee and Ima Ginger Rogers.
