Andrew English will join Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) as General Manager – Marketing, effective Tuesday November 28.

Mr English is an experienced marketing manager, previously holding executive positions at United Petroleum, Essendon Football Club, Melbourne Cricket Club and Australian Hospitality Management.

Prior to his time in hospitality and sports administration, Mr English spent a decade in the tourism sector after successfully completing his Bachelor of Business degree.

HRV CEO David Martin said Mr English’s extensive experience had him well-positioned to lead HRV’s marketing and communications functions.

“Andrew has achieved success in some challenging environments and demonstrated an excellent understanding of opportunities for HRV to build our brand,” Mr Martin said.

“I look forward to Andrew joining the team and I know he is keen to get started.”

Mr English said he had always been fascinated by the racing industry and was looking forward to joining the HRV team.

“My interest in racing began at an early age and I’ve always been fascinated with the characters and the stories,” he said.

“I’m also aware of the vital role all stakeholders play and that harness racing is a major contributor to the Victorian economy and our regional communities.

“We have some exciting opportunities ahead and I’m looking forward to playing my role to help the industry achieve its marketing goals.”
