With respect to the actions taken by Victoria Police on 3 November, 2017 where criminal charges were laid against harness racing participant Mr Nathan Weightman, Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) provides the following update.

HRV advises in respect of this matter, they provided a letter to the licensed participant allegedly involved to provide submissions addressing why action should not be taken under the Australian Harness Racing Rules (AHRR) against his respective licenses to participate in the harness racing industry.

Any such submissions are to be provided by 5.00pm on Thursday 16 November 2017 and will be given due consideration thereafter prior to any decision being made.

With respect to the Victoria Police investigation, HRV is unable to make any further comment.
