RACE 1 – GILGANDRA SERVICES CLUB/JOHNSONS GORMET BUTCHERY PACE – 2120 metres

KISS THE AVIATORwas slow away as the start was effected.

GOLD CURRENCYcommenced to weaken passing the 1000 metres and was beaten a considerable distance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that as it was its first bleed GOLD CURRENCY would be stood down for a period of three months in addition to a veterinary certificate of fitness and one requalifying trial.

Rounding the final turn COUNTING STARS raced roughly for a short distance. Driver M Rue explained to stewards that when releasing the ear plugs the cord wrapped around the hopples which may have contributed to the tractability.

SWITOWSKIwhich was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 2 – GILGANDRA MOTOR GARRAGE/ROHRS TIMBER & HARDWARE PACE – 2120 metres

The start time of the event was delayed slightly due to SHAZAM SHANNON requiring a sulky change.

Rounding the final turn KARLOO JONNO raced roughly for a short distance.

KARLOO JONNOwhich was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 3 – GILGANDRA LANDMARK/KELLY & ASTILL SOLICITORS PACE – 2120 metres

HOMESTED LADcommenced to weaken racing down the back straight on the final occasion with CATCH YOUR BREATH and CANKICKATARGET being inconvenienced whilst trailing. Driver M Hutchings explained to stewards that the gelding is better suited over the shorter trip. Stewards advised connections that given the performance; HOMESTED LAD would be stood down to one requalifying trial.

RACE 4 – GILGANDRA NEWSAGENCY/TATTERSALL HOTEL PACE – 2120 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from all runners.

Connections advised stewards that if circumstances permit OUR NOVAK would be driven forward with cover.

SPARE THE PRICEgalloped out as the start was effected. A warning was issued.

Rounding the first turn ALABAMA ACE raced roughly for a short distance with BROCKSUNDER FIRE being inconvenienced. Connections of ALABAMA ACE were advised it would be on it last chance to race truly.

TUTU BENE LOMBOhad a tendency to over-race in the early and middle stages of the event.

Stewards questioned driver A Frisby in relation to the performance of SPARE THE PRICE. A Frisby explained to stewards that after galloping away from the mobile regained gate relatively quickly and didn’t lose much ground however was disappointing over the concluding stages. He further added that in his opinion the mare is better suited racing up on the speed. Stewards noted his comments.

Stewards questioned driver A Turnbull in relation to the tactics adopted during the early stages of the event with OUR NOVAK. A Turnbull explained that after the start was effected the likely leader in her opinion SPARE THE PRICE galloped however when racing into the first turn was still of the intension to take cover from ALABAMA ACE but it raced roughly when negotiating the turn so elected to hold the lead. Stewards noted her comments.

RACE 5 – COO-EE MOTEL GILGANDRA CUP – 2120 metres

Entering the first turn GOTTASHOPEARLY hung out and broke stride then continued to shift up the track where as a result locked wheels with DESDON MURRUFFY who was severely checked, runners trailing SMOOTH MACE and RING THE TILL were also severely checked when attempting to avoid interference with OUR CASTANEA also being inconvenienced. A warning was issued against GOTTASHOPEARLY.

RING THE TILLhad a tendency to over race in the middle stages of the event.

Rounding the final turn OUR CASTANEA broke stride under pressure. A warning was issued.

MRS BROWNS BOY NZwhich was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 6 – CREENAUNE FAMILY THREE YEAR OLD SILVER JUG – 2120 metres

JOEYLEWhad a tendency to race greenly at various stages of the event.

Approaching the 900 metres MAJOR OCCASSION was unable to hold the lead when challenged by KARLOO BENTWOFIFTY.

Upon request from connections KARLOO BENTWOFIFTY will now be re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

MAJOR OCCASSIONwhich was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 7 – 3D BUTCHERY GILGANDRA WINDMILL FINAL – 1720 metres

FLYINGRETNA NZbroke stride in the early stages of the score up then shifted sharply down the track. Connections were advised that given the recent record the mare will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

BOSSY ALEC, BOYZINBLUEand RED HOT JERRY were all out of position as the start was effected due to the speed of the mobile in the latter stages of the score up. No action was taken.

JOGALONG DEEhad a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

TAIHAPE SUNSET NZwhich was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 8 – GILGANDRA TOYOTA/SPORTIES PACE – 2120 metres

Connections advised stewards that of circumstances permit HAKA SHANNON would be driven further back.

USENSATIONhad a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.
