In other news from the Shaky Isles, Tony Herlihy reports that Bellas Boy (pictured) is on target for his attempt to become the first pacer to win an Australasian Breeders Crown at two and three.

The Victoria Derby champion is back in work and set to resume in mid-July.

With the Auckland heat of the 3YO colts and geldings series programmed for 27 June, Bellas Boy looks set to arrive in early August in a bid to qualify in one of the Victorian heats.

On the local front, Albert Kelly showed the Kiwi raiders that they won?t have things all their own way with a slashing win in the Vicbred Super Series 3YO Colts & Geldings Final at Geelong.

?

Victory in the Group 1 feature took the Bernie Kelly bred, owned and trained pacer?s record to 11 starts for nine wins and $101,535 in stakes.

?

The Wagga pacer led home a Breeders Crown trifecta in the $100,000 feature with fellow acceptors Dominator Stride (NSW) and Maggies Son (VIC) filling the minor placings.

In the Vicbred 3YO Fillies Final, last season?s Breeders Crown placegetter Fleur Moreau showed that she?ll once again be a serious player with a gallant second to Ashlees Babe.

?

From barrier 13 she was forced to do a bevy of work three wide yet still managed to rate a personal 1:57.6 mile, one-tenth of a second inside the old 2100 metre track record.

?

On Thursday night at Terang, flying filly Melpark Sunrise upstaged the older horses in the prestigious $8000 Tontine Trotters Final.

?

Placed in last season?s Breeders Crown 2YO Final behind Kyvalley Road, Melpark Sunrise now boasts the enviable record of 24 starts for 12 wins, 10 placings and $57,445 in stakes.

?

As her build-up to the Breeders Crown in August continues she looks to have a mortgage on the $30,000 Victoria Trotters Oaks (Group 1) on Saturday week (14 June) at Moonee Valley.

?

North of the border and the Graeme Watts-trained Te Kanarama has been all the talking point after his slashing 1:57.1 win at Harold Park last Friday.

?

Unbeaten in three starts, the Panorama three-year-old is bound for the NSW Sires Series en route to the Breeders Crown where he?ll line-up against Light And Sound, Bellas Boy, Albert Kelly and Howard Bromac.

?

On the same program, the Breeders Crown eligible filly Winmara Lass unleashed a barnstorming finish for Wayne Innes to capture the first of two NSW 3YO Fillies Sires Semis.

?

She?ll be major player in the $100,000 Group 1 final this Friday night.
