The SA BOTRA 2YO Pace, run at Globe Derby Park on Saturday night (May 14), was a triumph for the SA Silver Salver Yearling Sale as the first three placegetters Jamaican Rock, Indelible Mase and Nicely Spoken were sold at last year’s sale.

Jamaican Rock, a gelding by A Rocknroll Dance from the Modern Art mare Jamaka Run, was offered by Mount Gambier breeders Peter and Lesley Medhurst. He was knocked down for $17,000 to owner Frank Borg.

Another winner from the 2021 Silver Salver sale was Layla’s Princess (Betterthancheddar-Bubba’s Princess), winner of a SA Kindergarten heat and runner-up in the final.

There have been four two-year-old races conducted in SA this season to date and two have been won by Silver Salver yearling sale graduates.
