QBred For Life adds to his huge earning potential

When the colourful Wilmington , Delaware Defense Attorney Joe Hurley inspected his yearling colt by Always A Virgin from Artstopper in 2012 , he  immediately fell in love with him.  Normally Joe would sell the Colts from his small band of broodmares but this was a wise decision as that Colt was later named by his wife , Brenda , as Always B Miki. ( Miki by the way is the nickname of his wife ).

Joe Hurley was described in a recent press article as an Attorney known for “ his bravado and Courtroom theatrics “.  If you have a spare 10 minutes then google “ Joe Hurley Attorney “ and you will read about a very interesting man , who is now the Breeder of the fastest Standardbred in history (he breeds under the name of Roll The Dice Stable ).

From the fastest horse on the planet in 2016 to 26th January 2020  -  Always B Miki has now sired the first of his downunder yearlings and Lot 14 at Albion Park is the first and perhaps most impressive of those youngsters to waltz into a Yearling Sale ring.

He has been bred by a relative newcomer to the Harness Racing Sales , although not a stranger to Thoroughbred Sales.

Wayne Comerford has been breeding and selling Thoroughbreds since 2008 under the Stud name of Stanley River Thoroughbreds.

Being a regular at the Rocklea Trots on a Saturday afternoon , he developed an interest in Standardbreds and purchased the Life Sign / Oh So Smooth filly at the 2010 Redcliffe Yearling Sale.

I was impressed with the temperaments of the Standardbred compared to Thoroughbreds “ said Wayne last week “ and so shelled out $10,000 to purchase the Life Sign filly. “

I raced her with a few mates with some limited success before they bailed out and I acquired her as a broodmare. “

Named Oh So Hippe , she produced her first foal by Auckland Reactor in 2015.  That gelding , named Hipstar , has now  won 6 races and $46,773 from his 26 starts and will go back into work next month.

The 2 year old full brother is now in training and showing a heap of ability. He will be named in the near future and then head to Trials.

The third foal is Lot 14 in the Brisbane Sale on Australia Day and is a stunning athletic colt by the World’s fastest ever Pacer , Always B Miki.

Renowned USA Bloodstock Agent and part owner of Miki, Bob Boni , saw some recent photos of this Always B Miki / Oh So Hippe colt and remarked ;

He looks a replica of Always B Miki at the same age “

This beautifully prepared Colt has some pretty illustrious relations to back up his pedigree as well  -   Lennytheshark , Penny Veejay , Led Suitcase , Burling Game , Mother Courage and Nolarama to name just a few. Being VicBred and QBred For Life adds to his huge earning potential.

There are a further two Colts by Always B Miki to go under the hammer on Sunday 26th ;

Lot 21  -  from the Rocknroll Heaven mare Rockin Riches

Lot 31  -  from the Bettors Delight mare  Victree Bette.

Jimmy Takter , who trained Always B Miki in his 4 and 5 year old seasons said on his retirement ;

I think this could be the Greatest Horse that ever lived .”

That is a big compliment coming from the most successful Trainer in North America over the past 10 years.
