It’s truly incredible that the APG NATIONAL MIXED SALE could harness so much positive energy and passion. This will go a long way towards confirming the real excitement about the sport moving forward.

Significant harness racing participants, leaders and keen followers are blown away by the strength of the bidding and levels of interest in this event which is still 3 days away from its closing time Sunday at 5pm.

With more than 4.5 Million dollars in bidding credit requests now entered into the system from Australia, New Zealand, and North America, this event is a must to go into the calendar. It promises to offer some intriguing viewing come Sunday.

While this may come as a little surprise to some, it’s certainly no surprise to the hard-working friendly team at APG. The team is headed up by David Boydell, he has a clear understanding that the true hero’s so far are the wonderful consignors that have put their faith in APG and this remarkable concept. APG, along with a large percentage of consignors believe the best way forward with this format is to set very achievable reserves and let the market determine their real value.

It’s a formula that’s hitting the mark with so many lots now passed their reserves, on their reserves or only one bid away from their reserves. A leading buyer in the sport based in Victoria told us today,  “it’s a sale that’s got me so enthusiastic about the sport again because the vendors (in most parts) are being more than fair”.

We got to witness yesterday some very robust bidding with consignors seeing their lots leap passed their conservative reserves.  A couple of examples of this would be 5 of the lots consigned by the estate of Harry Capararo who will be finding new homes after yesterday. Harshell Investments had 3 mares also pass reserves as did Paul Burns and Luke Stokie.

This is the last call for people that want a guarantee that bidding approvals can be processed in time for the most exciting harness racing event seen in years.

No guarantees can be given for the processing of applications received after 3.30pm today Melbourne time. The APG NATIONAL MIXED SALE has been a talking point all week within the industry and its positive impact on the sport could be seen well into the future.
