Another Group One for Trotsynd

Manning, owned by Trotsynd Syndication No 16 and managed by Pacing WA, scored a brilliant victory on Friday night in the Group One $100,000 Pearl Classic at Gloucester Park.

The son of Sportswriter, who is named after The West Australian trotting journalist Ernie Manning, settled in on the second half of the field after a fast-early tempo allowed driver Chris Lewis to patiently wait to unleash a sustained sprint to round up his opposition in the final 800 metres.

“He went very well” said Lewis after the win “He’s a nice little horse, inexperienced and still has a bit to learn”.

When asked about the syndication and ownership of Manning, who were all on course for the victory, the Hall of Fame reinsman gave his stamp of approval.

“It’s great for trotting to have these people involved and having a win like this in a Group One is fantastic for them.

“We just want more people like them” Lewis added

Trained by Justin Prentice, the win took Manning’s earnings to almost $92,000 plus Westbred bonuses from just six starts. His next mission will be the $100,000 two-year-old Allwood Stud Westbred Final on Friday 28 June at Gloucester Park, before a possible run in the $125,000 Golden Slipper on July 13 at Gloucester Park.

This Friday night, Trotsynd will be represented by Know When To Run in the Group One three-year-old Westbred Final for the colts and geldings. Know When To Run has overcome injuries which saw him miss his entire two-year-old racing season to win five of his 10 starts as a three-year-old, including a brilliant victory two weeks ago at Gloucester Park over a class field. Know When To Run has only been unplaced once and earned stakes of almost $36,000 heading into the biggest race of his short career.

Unfortunately, WA Oaks winner Has No Fear is battling a virus and will not compete in the three-year-old fillies Westbred final.

Trotsynd, along with Pacing WA, have almost sold out their newest acquisition. Only two shares remain in the son of world champion sire Bettors Delight and the first foal of top Christian Cullen mare, Robyns CC, making him the same sought-after breeding cross as Lazarus, Chicago Bull and The Fixer.

Details of the latest Trotsynd syndication can be found on the Gloucester Park website http://www.gloucesterpark.com.au/racing/trotsynd-syndication/
