R1 – 12:42pm – Vicbred Voucher Maiden Pace - 1740m

5 – Mezzanotti

3 – Jilliby Utah

4 – Only Son

10 – Millwood Miki

Strategy:

Mezzanotti is a 2yo taking on older rivals, but he’s shown above-average talent in his two career placings. Last start he displayed good gate speed, fought hard, and was beaten by a very smart type. What he lacks in polish he makes up for in speed, and this looks an ideal race for him to break through.

BACK: 5 Mezzanotti – 3 Units (win)

R2 – 1:10pm – Caseys Truck & Tractor Pace – 1740m

2 – Maywyns Jewel

8 – Lilstrepo

5 – Caruso Star

7 – Redbank Molly

Strategy:

Maywyns Jewel finds a more suitable grade here and draws to potentially lead, which is her preferred pattern. Two runs ago she controlled the race from a similar setup and was very good in strong company. She can give a great sight at each-way odds.

BACK: 2 Maywyns Jewel – 2 Units (win)

R3 – 1:49pm – Frank Evans Memorial Trotters Handicap – 2120m

4 – Ataboy Charlie

3 – Kyvalley Misty

1 – Tension Seeker

7 – Alfie Always

R4 – 2:24pm – Ken & Maureen Ward Memorial Pace Final – 1740m

12 – Regal Rock

7 – Icanmotor

2 – Ittakesluv

6 – Star Ruler

R5 – 2:59pm – Jarryd Ezard Construction Pace Final – 2150m

7 – Sir Nippa

4 – Wow You Can Dance

8 – Grinning Beach Boy

5 – Insider Trading

R6 – 3:34pm – BSL St Arnaud Sporting Club Trotters Cup – 2520m

12 – Johns Boy

5 – Link In Bio

11 – Hatchback

9 – Avant Guard

Strategy:

Johns Boy has been going well this preparation and excels under standing start conditions over longer distances. Two runs back he won a heat of the SA Trotters Cup impressively, and this race profiles potentially easier. If he can slide into the race off the right tempo, he’ll be extremely hard to hold out.

BACK: 12 Johns Boy – 2.5 Units (win)

R7 – 4:09pm – Weir’s IGA St Arnaud Pace – 1740m

2 – Williams

10 – Cotchinellie

5 – Eastbro Kozzy

1 – Outmazing

R8 – 4:44pm – McNaulty Racing St Arnaud Pacing Cup – 2150m

8 – Dhaulagiri

7 – Curyo Gentleman

10 – Madigan

12 – Diamond Eclipse

Strategy:

A terrific edition of the St Arnaud Pacing Cup and with so much early speed engaged, they may well challenge the track record set last year. Dhaulagiri was runner-up in this race 12 months ago and his form since has been consistently strong against quality opposition. He’ll need luck from the inside of the second row, but with a fast tempo expected he’ll be powering late.

BACK: 8 Dhaulagiri – 2.5 Units (win)

R9 – 5:29pm – Weir’s IGA St Arnaud Pace – 2150m

1 – Iamawingate

8 – Zwick

10 – Tophut Johnny

7 – Bettorsweetvictory

QUADDIE (Races 5-8)

4,5,7,8

5,11,12

1,2,5,8,10

7,8,10,12

$60 = 25%
