MOUNT Fairy horseman Grant Forrest enjoyed a fruitful season with his team of horses last year netting a career best 33 winners.

The new season has started just as well for the 36-year-old who has already trained four winners.

Providing two of those victories this year is Forrest’s consistent trotter Orlando Strom that won again at Menangle last Saturday night.

The mare has now won 14 races thanks to Cameron Hart’s recent winning drive and is racing again at Menangle today.

Also backing up from racing last Saturday night is Forrest’s other trotter Thebestbourbon.

The mare finished third last Saturday night but made headlines on the weekend following her last win at that track in December.

The winning drive by Forrest saw him nominated for the TAB Kevin Newman Award for Driving Excellence alongside four other drivers.

The winner of that award will be announced at NSW Harness Racing Industry Awards at Menangle Country Club on February 26.
