Runner's Relief

Following enquiries with the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), HRNSW Stewards advise the NSW harness racing industry that the product known as Runner’s Relief is an unregistered product and is not to be used or in the possession of any licensed participant.

It has been confirmed that the product does require registration in Australia and that process has not been undertaken by the manufacturer.

Consequently, HRNSW Stewards remind licensed participants of the Australian Harness Racing Rules (AHRR) in relation to Unregistered Products as follows:

AHRR 194.  A person who:

(a)  Procures or attempts to procure;

(b)  Has in his possession or on his premises or under his control;

(c)  Administers or attempts to administer;

any substance or preparation that has not been registered, labelled, prescribed or obtained in compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation is guilty of an offence.

AHRR 194A.  A person who:

(a)  Sells or attempts to sell;

(b)  Supplies or attempts to supply;

(c)  Distributes or attempts to distribute;

any substance or preparation that has not been registered, labelled, prescribed or obtained in compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation is guilty of an offence.
