Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) Stewards, acting under the provisions of Australian Harness Racing Rule 183 (a), (b), (c) & (d), have today suspended the Trainer and Driver’s licences of Mr Michael Muscat after receiving advice from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory (ARFL) that Total Plasma Carbon Dioxide above the prescribed threshold had been detected in the pre-race blood sample taken from KNIGHT WALKER prior to it running in race 1, the BLING IT ON @ COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE (1730 metres) conducted at Bathurst on Wednesday 22 December 2021.
HRNSW Stewards considered all available information, including submissions on behalf of Mr Muscat, prior to the imposition of Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 183.
Mr Muscat was informed of his right to appeal this decision.
A date for the Inquiry has not been scheduled at this time.
