The opportunity
We’re looking for an Assistant Manager Harness Racing. Reporting to the Manager Harness Racing, the successful incumbent will be a harness race expert with leadership or management experience. This role is accountable for developing race meetings and programmes, as well as contributing to the strategy and policy development for harness racing.
You'll need to be accurate for this role. You will be heavily involved in harness race programming, handicapping and scheduling for WA racing and providing data analysis and reports to external industry stakeholders pertaining to harness code performance and handicapping.
You'll also possess excellent relationship management skills, key to this role is an emphasis on growing and developing the commerciality of the harness code.
As this is a leadership development role, previous management or leadership experience will be considered highly advantageous.

Ideally to be successful in this role you will need
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Harness racing industry
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Rules of Harness Racing and Racing Policies is essential
- Ability to communicate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent client engagement skills and previous leadership or management experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in executing work
- Highly computer literate with advanced Excel skills
