Thank you, owners!

RWWA would like thank all owners for their continuous investment and support of the WA racing industry, and for their patience and cooperation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To celebrate the return of patrons back on-course, we are sharing the ownership experiences of some of our owners, such as Dorina Margaretic, who is one of over 13,000 people investing in the WA racing industry.

Dorina became involved in ownership after her husband encouraged her to purchase a share, so that she could experience his passion for harness racing.

“I purchased a share in Trotsynd filly Has No Fear about 3 years ago, and after amazing success with her, I purchased a share in Trotsynd horse Manning the following year. Just a few weeks ago we purchased Has No Fear from Trotsynd, and we now have the majority share in her along with my father in law.”

Dorina describes her ownership journey as extraordinary, with both horses winning Group 1 races.

“I am now bitten by the bug and a few months ago I purchased a yearling at the APG sales, a colt by Racing Hill from the mare Shez Saul Good. We will race him with an ownership group of family, good friends and our trainer/driver Jocelyn Young.”

“I really enjoy watching my horses race, and socialising with like-minded at the track.”

“The best part of being involved is the spectacle of harness racing, having a few bets on a Friday night, getting to know the horses and drivers, enjoying the members’ facilities and have the opportunity to socialise with other members and owners.”

“I am really looking forward to being back at the track to enjoy all of that again, see our horses, give them a good luck pat, and talk to our trainer/driver Jocelyn Young.”

Once again, RWWA would like to thank owners for their understanding during this challenging period, and for their support as we progressively get back to enjoying racing as we know it in WA.
