Tuesday night Harness Racing has found a new home at Port Pirie in August and September. This follows on from the recent success of Tuesday night racing at Globe Derby Park.

HRSA in consultation with the PPHRC are looking to make this a regular feature on the Harness Racing calendar and hopeful it will give the local Breeders, Owners and Trainers an opportunity to showcase their talents.

A minimum of six races will be conducted at the Tuesday night Port Pirie meetings with the major attraction being stake money of $10,000 on offer for any horse winning both heats of the dual-race to be conducted on the night. The full programme for the August Tuesday meetings will be available shortly.

The Port Pirie 2019/20 racing season will officially re-launch on Saturday 25th July with Tuesday nights commencing on 11th August.

The program for the Saturday 25th can be found here

Ross Neal CEO HRSA commented:-

We look forward to supporting the local Harness Racing community and making Port Pirie a regular racing venue once again.

In moving to Tuesday nights HRSA is mindful that this represents a change from the previous racing structure at Port Pirie, however the need to both maximise returns and promote a consistent wagering product is paramount in the current fast-paced and ever-evolving harness racing landscape.
