Friday night’s Golden Slipper has been thrown wide open following this morning’s barrier draw.

The Robbie Williams-trained Overjoyed came up with the prized inside barrier for the $100,000 event, just the second time he has got barrier one in his career.

There were mixed draws for the four Group 1 winners in the field, with Black Jack Baby and Talks Up A Storm in barrier two and four respectively.

For the Greg and Skye Bond-trained pair Give Us A Wave and Jett Star they are set to have their work cut out from barrier six and 10 respectively.

Black Jack Baby is the lone filly in the field and looms as a possible leader in the early stages, as does the Murray Lindau-trained Talks Up A Storm.

Talks Up A Storm rounded out his preparation for the Golden Slipper by winning a trial at Pinjarra in 1.58.4 on Sunday.

Mighty Ronaldo and Machnificent filled the minor placings in the Westbred Classic two weeks ago and have had contrasting fortunes at the draw.

Mighty Ronaldo will start from the outside of the front line in barrier nine, while Machnificent looks primed to get an ideal chance to go close to Group 1 glory again from barrier 11.

Lavra Joe, second in the Pearl Classic to Jett Star last month, looks set to have his work cut out from barrier eight.

Powerplay, Carabao, The Good Life and Robbie Rocket round out the field in barrier three, five, seven and 12 respectively.
