Ahead of tonight’s WASBA-Breeders Stakes meeting at Gloucester Park, get the last word from all the key players. Race 6 is the running of the feature event, taken out by Our Alfie Romeo last year, pictured above.

RACE 1 – BUDGET STOCKFEEDS PACE

1.Aldo Cortopassi (Art Tutor): “We’ll be doing our best to hold up. He doesn’t fly off the gate but he does muster speed. If he holds up he will be hard to run down.”

2.Gary Hall Jnr (Antero): “Place chance. His form is better than it suggests.”

3.Peter Tilbrook (Cavalry Call): “Going well. Needs luck from the barrier three to get into a nice spot.”

5.Corey Peterson (One For Dave Andme): “Expect him to go well. Probably look to slot in and drive him with one run.”

9.Peter Tilbrook (Seven Demerits): “Wait for him to get a better draw.”

12.Aiden De Campo (Just Barney): “Been unlucky with the draws in town. I’m happy with the horse at home. He’s probably more of a place chance.”

RACE 2 – RAMSAYS HORSE TRANSPORT PACE

1.Deni Roberts (Destined To Rule): “He has no gate speed. So hopefully we can get the sit on Our Perkins as he should go well in front. He’s a much better horse sat up. Hoping for improvement as he isn’t 100 per cent fit. Monday’s run helped.”

2.Dylan Egerton-Green (Our Perkins): “Racing well with no luck. Showed more form last start. He will probably find the front. I’ll be driving for the front.”

3.Aiden De Campo (Attack On Command): “I thought his last start was the best since I’ve driven him. He meets a field where he’s probably going to get a nice trip. He’s a good top four chance.”

5.Gary Hall Jnr (Tuas Delight): “He’s a rough chance.”

12. Aldo Cortopassi (Sarge): “Place chance at best. Go to try and get a soft trip.”

RACE 3 – MILNE FEEDS MADE FOR WA PACE

1.Brett Smith (Mcardles Gem): “We will lead early and not be handing up to Tanaka Eagle.”

2.Peter Tilbrook (Tanaka Eagle): “I’ll be trying to lead. Mcardles Gem normally likes to sit.”

3.Michael Grantham (Oneonthewood): “I can’t use him off the gate. I’ll be looking to go back and slot in. If he puts in a half like at he did at Pinjarra he will be hard to hold out.”

4.Corey Peterson (Runaway Three): “He should go well. I’ll push forward looking for the top. If not I’ll sit in the breeze.”

10.Aiden De Campo (Walsh): “He’s going really well. It’s a really good draw for him. Whether we’re leaders back or three back on the rails it’s a really good spot. Hopefully he can get clear at the right time and I’m confident the way he’s going he’ll run a really nice race.”

RACE 4 – LARKHILL VETS PACE

1.Aldo Cortopassi (Marquisard): “I had the choice of driving the one, two and three. He got off the gate sharply last week. I thought he might be even sharper than last week. He ran 1.56 and it felt like he might have a bit left.”

3.Dylan Egerton-Green (Pradas Ideal Dahling): “Looks like he will have to do it tough outside the leader again.”

4.Gary Hall Jnr (Extreme Prince): “He’s millions.”

6.Michael Grantham (Valbonne): “He’s going well. His last start was strong. He will slot back and get a spot.”

7. Mike Reed (All The Whispers): “We will take the shortcuts and hope for the best.”

RACE 5 – VALE GAVIN LANG PACE

3.Aldo Cortopassi (Dreamy Nights): “Going to grab hold of him at the start. It’s a good chance to drive him with a sit.”

4.Greg Bond (El Jacko): “Had to get going three deep last week. He felt the pinch late.”

6. Mike Reed (Golden State): “His runs have been great except last start. We’ll go back and try and get to the fence and take shortcuts. He’s a great place chance.”

7.Dylan Egerton-Green (Vultan Tin): “Hope to sit him up. Hoping then the race is run to suit.”

8.Gary Hall Jnr (Chicago Bull): “Should win. It was a bad drive last week.”

9.Greg Bond (Our Jimmy Johnstone): “He will be driven quietly early. He might be able to get the trail on Bully.”

RACE 6 – WASBA BREEDERS STAKES

1.Aiden De Campo (Delightfulreaction): “She’s unproven against the class. She was really good last week. She’s a mare that’s always gone well in bigger race where they’ve run it genuinely. She’ll be taking a trail. On what horse? We aren’t sure yet.”

2.Mike Reed (Arma Indie): “She had one soft trial. The last place we wanted to be (first-up) was in the breeze. Her go is either leading or sitting up. Her work was good (on Wednesday). She’s still big in condition but each run she will get better and better. She has got good gate speed. If we did cross we’d definitely keep it.”

9. Justin Prentice (Dracarys): “I think she’ll struggle from the draw. I thought she was due for a decent draw and a bit of luck. She will be driven her normal way. Hopefully it’s run upside down.”

10.Gary Hall Jnr (Balcatherine): “She’s a good each-way chance.”

11. Justin Prentice (Has No Fear): “Was a good run last start. She sat three fence which is ideal for her. She’s not going to get that tonight.”

RACE 7 – INSURE WITH PSC BLOODSTOCK SERVICES PACE

1.Deni Roberts (Ideal Investment): “He has to lead. If he gets crossed he can’t win. He should go close if he leads. It’s a step up in grade but I can’t rule him out in front over a short trip.”

2.Dylan Egerton-Green (Major Shard): “Hopefully hold a spot. He should use his speed over the final stages.”

3.Kim Prentice (Soho Thunderstruck): “Saleahs Command may cross. I’ve held out Bettor Be Oscar before. I don’t think I can cross the one. We have to come out and hold the outside horses.”

8.Aiden De Campo (Bettor Be Oscar): “Horse is racing well. I’m struggling to figure out how he’s going to get into the race. It seems the one will lead and the three will sit in the breeze. I think he will struggle to get in the race. We will need things to go his way.”

RACE 8 – FRESH EXPRESS STANDING START

1.Gary Hall Jnr (Semiramide): “She’s a chance again but she’s a quarter of the odds.”

2.Michael Grantham (Countess Grace): “Hoping she can step over the short course. When she’s been sat up she’s been flying through the field. If she leads we will definitely hold up. If I lead I can definitely beat The Bird Dance.”

3.Greg Bond (Divinia Bellezza): “Working well at home. In the short course stand hoping she can step away well. We will be a lot wiser after the race.”

9.Peter Tilbrook (Vivere Damore): “She’s worked on a treat. She should go close. Last week she was better than what on paper suggests. Normally at a stand she steps well but we just stepped a bit too quick last week. If she gets away well and lobs handy she’s a good chance.”

10.Greg Bond (The Bird Dance): “He’s the one to beat. Pulled up well from Monday. He should be in the firing line.”

RACE 9 – DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS WITH A STAR ALLWOOD STUD STALLION 3YO FILLIES PACE

3.Kim Prentice (Soho Major Player): “Going okay. She will go back and take short cuts.”

5.Gary Hall Jnr (Suing You): “Gets her chance to return to form.”

6.Kim Prentice (Soho Whisper): “She’s the better chance but drawn the worst. We need some mid race pressure.”

7.Aiden De Campo (Blue Chip Adda): “She’s a filly that’s got one trick. She’s best sat up for the first 600m. I can’t really use her early. We’ll be relying on speed from other horses. We have to go back from the draw. If the race is run to suit I’m sure she’ll be there abouts.”

RACE 10 – VISION PRODUCE 2YO PACE

1.Gary Hall Jnr (Mighty Ronaldo): “He will take plenty of beating from the draw. It’s a very good field of babies.”

2. Justin Prentice (Adda Something): “He disappointed me a little bit last start. He’s really green.  He needs more education. He looks like he’ll drop on the back of Mighty Ronaldo.”

5.Michael Grantham (Seeryanfly): “I drove him last start and was happy with him. He’s very quick. I think I’ll slot back here and they might go in Indian file.”
