It is with extreme sadness that Kevin & Kay Seymour & Peter & Leean Bell from Egmont Park Stud advise that their potential star stallion, Hurrikane KingCole was found dead in his paddock this morning.

The cause of death is currently unknown and an autopsy will be carried out this morning.

Hurrikane KingCole was a stallion with enormous potential and not only was his first season stock doing extremely well in Australia, but his progeny in the USA were setting the tracks on fire with horses like Hurrikane Empress, Hurrikane Emperor winning all before them.

It is also sad loss for Egmont Park as his bookings this season were very heavy and we are sure that broodmare owners when they hear the news will be extremely disappointed.

So far he has been very well patronized in Australia with owners having high expectations for his progeny.

Kevin Seymour described the loss as one of the most disappointing occurrences in his 50 years of breeding.

Kevin & Kay, Peter & Leean have advised the syndicate of owners in America who also are absolutely shattered with their loss.

One owner in particular, John McDermott, travelled from the USA earlier this year just to spend some time at the Stud with his best mate, Hurrikane KingCole, who was the apple of John’s eye.

Kevin Seymour said he was shocked as he honestly believed that Hurrikane KingCole was going to make a suitable replacement for the ill fated Fake Left and become Australia’s leading sire.

As you can appreciate, Kevin feels terrible for Peter & Leean who made the grim discovery in the early hours of this morning and understands it must be distressing for them as it was like he was one of the family.
