Art Major has three lots in the Bathurst sale.

THE 2018/19 racing season is now in full swing and yearlings catalogued for the upcoming Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale were huge beneficiaries through the deeds of their winning siblings and exceptional sires.

Siblings to several recent winners are set to be offered at Bathurst, including a half-sister to the 1:59.5 Newcastle three-year-old winner and Group placegetter Brooklyns Best.

Other recent winners with half-brothers or sisters in the sale include Futurist, Beach Boy Adios, La Player (1:57.9), the three-year-old Lord Denzel (1:56.7) and Milliondollardream.

Yearlings to be auctioned at Bathurst are by sires that have produced Group winning two-year-old progeny in Australia and New Zealand this year.

Art Major, who has three lots in the sale, ranks as the sire of the WA Sales Classic winner Major Martini and the Allied Express 2YO Classic victor Summertime, Bettor’s Delight (2 lots) figures as the sire of the NZ Young Guns winner Smooth Deal, Sportswriter (3 lots) is the sire of the MIA Breeders Plate winner The Tiger Army, Mach Three (1 lot) has left the NSW Sapling Stakes winner Mach Dan, Heston Blue Chip (5 lots) is represented by the NSW Pink Bonnet victor Eye Can Run and Sunshine Beach (3 lots) has sired Ozzie Battler, winner of the Victoria Sapling Stakes and Premiere Stakes.

The sale has been further boosted by three entries from Doug and Janet Moore’s Brooklyn Lodge, Aberdeen. They include a He’s Watching colt out of a 1:53 half-sister to the outstanding WA juvenile Jack Mac, a Mach Three filly from the Bathurst Sales Graduate winner Allnight Kiss (1:56.4) and an Art Major filly from Toolijooa Dawn (1:55.1).

The Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale will be held at the Gold Crown Paceway on Sunday, March 24, starting at 11am.
