Harness Racing Victoria’s Integrity department has been made aware that products containing altrenogest may contain levels of trenbolone and/or trendione, which are banned substances with extended detection times.
Further work, including liaising with the manufacturers, is being undertaken by HRV and other racing jurisdictions to clarify the situation.
HRV will provide updates as soon as they are available.
Until further notice, trainers and veterinarians are advised to immediately stop the use of products that contain altrenogest.
