THE harness racing industry is mourning the tragic passing of Nic Dewar, aged 18.

Nic was involved in a single vehicle car accident last night.

He drove in a race at Shepparton yesterday afternoon and finished second-placed on the pacer Nor Nor West.

Based in Young, Nic was passionate about his harness racing and in his succinct career drove 22 winners and 57 placegetters.

As a mark of respect, drivers in tomorrow night’s Miracle Mile at Tabcorp Park Menangle will wear black armbands and Club Menangle will fly a flag at half-mast.

On behalf of the entire harness racing fraternity, the Harness Racing New South Wales Board and Management extends their sincere condolences to Nic’s family and friends.
