SA TROTS- HRSA 2021 Horse of the Year Awards results

Harness Racing SA hosted the 2021 SA Horse of the Year Awards on Friday night May 20 at the Mawson Lakes Hotel and Function Centre.

Jimmy Mack NZ was crowned 2021 SA Horse Of The Year, after a season which saw the Merv and Meg Butterworth owned gelding come across from WA and dominate the open ranks in SA, recording 7 wins and one second from just 9 starts. Under the care of trainer Les Harding, his highlights included victory in the 2021 Veterinary Surgeons Cup and the Christmas Cup.

Other major winners on the night included Danielle Hill, who claimed her third Jim Hurley Medal, Jill Neilson who was presented with the prestigious Nevada Smoke Special Achievement Award and Toby Ryan who was awarded the Chairs Award for his contribution to the industry.

HRSA also had the pleasure of presenting a special award on behalf of Harness Racing Australia for the Australian 2yo Filly Pacer of the Year to Tyson Linke, owner of exciting filly Encipher.
