When

Racing each day of the Brisbane Show from Friday August 9 to Sunday August 18.

Where

RNA Showgrounds, 600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills  QLD  4006.

Nominations

Due by Wednesday July 10 for purposes of advising the RNA of horse / competitor numbers.

All horses even just being considered for a start must be nominated by this date.

Daily race nomination deadline will close the day prior to the race.

Eligibility

All horses must be Hendra Virus vaccinated. The last dose of the vaccination or booster must be completed by July 9. The RNA will conduct checks prior to and during the Show to ensure each horse is vaccinated.

Requirements

Trainers must complete a horse health declaration as per the RNA requirements.

Entry

Entry is via Gate 4, all vehicles must be removed from the grounds after dropping off horses and gear.  There will be strictly no parking on the grounds this year as the previous on site parking location will not be available this year.

Entry and exit times will be strictly enforced this year due to the reduced space available and to avoid vehicle movement while the Shows open. It is advised that incoming competitors arrive at approximately 8:30am each day and remove the vehicle quickly after unloading.

Vehicle Entry Permit

A vehicle entry permit must be obtained for permission to enter the grounds. Please visit www.ekka.com.au to apply for the vehicle entry permit on-line. It is encouraged this is completed ASAP in preparation for the Show. Don't leave it to the last minute otherwise you risk missing out on a permit.

Parking

Vehicles can be parked at Portside for a fee (approx $30 per day) as per previous years.  A shuttle bus service is available for transport back to the Showgrounds. (Leaves every 45 minutes).

You may find parking at an alternate venue which could be more suitable for your needs.

Entry Passes

Competitor passes are likely to require a photo ID this year so once competitors are known photos will need to be supplied to the RNA. RQ will organize for your current licence photo to be used for your ID card. We will contact anyone who we can't obtain a photo for in advance.

Trainers should advise any drivers that will be required during the course of the Show so we can also organize Photo Id's for them in advance also.

Stabling

Horses will be stabled this year in the horse stables up the hill adjacent to the main entry to the Showring.  Expo Place is not available this year for horse accomodation.

Accomodation

The location of the accomodation is yet to be determined but it is unlikely to be available close to the horse stabling area. The accomodation in the lofts above the horse stables are not available for use due to Workplace Health and Safety limitations.

Those seeking accomodation on the grounds should contact Brett Rail at Racing Queensland ASAP to organize in advance. Ph (07) 3869 9774.

Racing

The interim racing schedule has been set and is currently available for viewing at the Meeting Calendar of this website. Depending upon nominations received the program may be amended slightly to ensure adequate opportunities are available for all.
