Racing Queensland (RQ) is a statutory body established to connect people through the thrill of racing by promoting, developing and servicing Queensland Racing Clubs and industry affiliates across three codes of racing: Thoroughbred | Greyhound | Harness |   RQ’s employees are passionate and committed to delivering RQs strategic plan and our business structure enables impactful influence on strategic, operational and commercial plans across the three codes of racing in Queensland.

Your Opportunity

A career development opportunity exists for a Racing Officer to assist the Harness Racing team with administration duties, the coordination of the QBRED breeding scheme and assisting with handicapping of race and trial fields.  By developing your knowledge of Harness Racing clubs, trainers, drivers, horses, breeders, RQ and industry guidelines your expected career path will be progression to a Handicapper.

Your genuine passion for Harness Racing will be exemplified in your current knowledge and experience in the racing industry.  You will pride yourself on the timeliness of communications and quality of information provided to stakeholders by demonstrating strong attention to detail and accuracy with competent computer literacy skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word. 

Your success will be linked to your resilience and learning agility to thrive in a high-pressure time critical environment.  Given the timeliness of Harness Racing events, the Racing Officer may be required to work outside normal working hours and weekends.
