First crop sire A Rocknroll Dance.
THE unprecedented success of first crop sires A Rocknroll Dance, Pet Rock, Shoobees Place, Caribbean Blaster and Alta Christiano in the first few weeks of the two-year-old racing has given a terrific boost to next Sunday’s Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale.
The sale, featuring 120 superbly bred yearlings, will be conducted by Graeme Board & Company at the Bathurst Showground from 11am.
A Rocknroll Dance, who is represented by two colts and four fillies, figures as the sire of the winner of the Group 1 $100,000 WA Sales Classic Final for two-year-old colts in Its Rock And Roll (1:56.6).
Pet Rock, who has six entries (3 colts and 3 fillies), has already left the dual Bathurst winner and Pink Bonnet placegetter Ally Rogan (1:58.3) and the Albion Park winner and Paleface Adios Classic placegetter Maywyn Tough.
Both A Rocknroll Dance and Pet Rock ranked among the top bracket of two-year-old sires in North America last year.
The fast Artsplace horse Shoobees Place, who has a 10-strong draft including six colts and four fillies, has sired the NSW provincial winners Shoobee Doo (1:58.8) and Tsunami Charlie (2:00).
The colonial bred stallions Caribbean Blaster and Alta Christiano, who are represented by six and three lots respectively, have both gotten off to a flying start with their stud careers. Caribbean Blaster’s three winners include the Victoria Premiere Stakes winner Scheu Creek (1:56.8), while Alta Christiano has left a single winner, Martys Party.
Established sires Art Major (4 lots), Roll With Joe (4), Rock N Roll Heaven (3), Sportswriter (3), Four Starzzz Shark (3), Western Terror (3), Modern Art (3) and Courage Under Fire (2) are all strongly represented at the sale.
