HAVING registered an overdue feature victory at Globe Derby last night, well-performed filly Passions Delight will be looking to extract some revenge next week.

Contesting her sixth major, Passions Delight was rewarded for her consistency by capturing the South Australia Oaks.

It was the three-year-old’s fourth win from five starts for leading horsewoman Dani Hill, with her defeat coming against the ‘boys’ when finishing second – beaten a head - in the Gawler Derby after racing in the ‘death seat’.

Confident the daughter of Bettors Delight is ready for another crack at the ‘fellas’, Hill will enter Passions Delight for the Port Pirie Derby over 2050 metres.

“She has pulled up super from the Oaks,” Hill said. “She licked her bowl clean and is bouncing around like she’s only had a good jog workout the night before.

“I really couldn’t be happier with the way she went and has come through the run.

“She’ll go around in the Port Pirie on Saturday night and will certainly be hard to beat.”

With Hill in the cart during her Blue Riband triumph, Passions Delight worked to the lead from barrier two before completing a 15-and-a-half metre win from Our Summer Bay, with Sheer Modern 12 metres away third.

Rating 1:57.7 over 2230 metres, the three-year-old extended her record to eight wins and 11 placings for her northern hemisphere owners Marc Hanover and Gordon Banks.
