Olive Hayes at the Gordon Rothacker Medal night.

The Angelique Club is mourning the passing of its much loved President, Olive Hayes.

Olive passed away on Wednesday, 6 December 2017.

Leading the Angelique Club with great enthusiasm for 11 years, Olive worked hard to promote and raise the profile of our club and in doing so built a comprehensive network of contacts across the sport.

Everyone who knew Olive understood the wealth of knowledge she held in relation to the sport of harness racing. Her interest was strengthened by her son Michael’s long time involvement in the industry.

In 2015 Olive became the first recipient of Life Membership of the Angelique Club.

Her warm and generous manner will be missed by all her friends in the Angelique Club and Harness Racing.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Olive’s family.

Requiem Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 46 Ballarat Rd, Maidstone, on Tuesday (December 12, 2017) commencing at 11.30am. Rosary will be recited at the church 30 mins prior to the mass.

No flowers by request. Donations in lieu to Cancer Council Victoria

Harness Racing Victoria offers sincere condolences to the family of Olive Hayes, who was a wonderful friend of the industry.
