The Safely Kept mare, Rivergum Magic was one of the best horses ever bred by Gary and Marlene Fryar, of Rivergum Lodge, Gawler. She won 13 races in South Australia and Victoria including five at Globe Derby Park.

The Fryar’s are offering a bay colt by Alta Christiano, the sensational Group winning son of Christian Cullen, as Lot 17 at the 2017 Harnessbred.com SA Yearling Sale to be held at Globe Derby Park this Sunday.

“He’s one of the nicest colts we’ve ever bred,” Gary said, “He’s a strong colt and well mannered; a Christian Cullen type.”

The youngster is closely related to a string of smart performers including the Tontine placegetter, On The Cheap ($59,350), I’ll Wait, Giddy Up, Gday Gorgeous and Premier Power.

The colt is eligible for the Southern Cross, Vicbred and SA Sales Classic.

Rivergum Magic, now aged 11 years, and in foal to US 2YO of the year, Village Jolt, will also go up for auction in the mixed part of the sale on the same  day.

Rivergum Lodge is also offering the Armbro Operative mare Military, the winner of nine races and a placegetter in the Southern Cross Finals at 2 and 3 and the SA Oaks. The dam of the thrice winner, Weaponry, Military is carrying a positive test to Shadow Play.

Established in 1982, Rivergum Lodge is also one of the leading Standardbred nurseries and semen bases in South Australia. The cups winner Havastar (26 wins) and Votemdry (14 wins) were a couple of good performers that were born and raised on the property.
