The Essendon Football Club has joined forces with Harness Racing Victoria to form the "Bombers Harness Syndicate". It's a unique initiative that sees the club's two social venues, the Melton Country Club and Windy Hill, lease and race two young pacers over the next three years.

Importantly for members it's FREE to be involved as the Syndicate aims to encourage a closer relationship between two of Australia's most progressive sporting bodies, offering cross promotional opportunities and importantly giving you the thrill of owning your very own harness horse.

All training fees will be paid by Harness Racing Victoria and the prizemoney raised will be donated to a charity to be designated by the Club, as well as being utilised in venue promotions.

Two yearlings were hand-picked by one of the world's leading breeder, Alan Galloway of Echuca's Alabar Bloodstock.

The first is a black colt by Safely Kept out of Anasazi known as Windyhillbomber. He's trained at Cranbourne by multiple Australian training premiership winners Jayne Davies and Noel Alexander.

The second is a Bay Filly by Golden Greek out of Ensign's Dream known as Spy Catcher. She's trained at Bendigo by multiple Group 1 winning trainer Bruce Morgan for the Melton Country Club.
