EXPRESSIONIST (NZ) (N McMullen) which was drawn directly behind sustained an offside flat tyre and as a result the start of this race was further delayed to allow a sulky change to take place on EXPRESSIONIST (NZ).

EXPRESSIONIST (NZ) which galloped during the first score up will be placed on its last chance in the draw.

Stewards questioned P McMullen (BUY CHEVRON DIRECT) (NZ) regarding him leaning back in the sulky in the early stages of the race.  Mr. McMullen stated that BUY CHEVRON DIRECT (NZ) had commenced to race very fiercely after the false start and that he adjusted his reins to go up a loop as a result.  He said despite this BUY CHEVRON DIRECT (NZ) continued to pull hard.  Stewards advised Mr. McMullen that whilst there was some mitigation in his favour tonight, the stewards would not tolerate him allowing his body to protrude outside the sulky and any further actions in this regard may warrant action being taken against his licence.

YOUNG DESIREE was held up for clear running in the concluding stages of the race.
