SCRATCHINGS:  

The following horses were scratched and subsequently stood down from racing for 14 days pending the receipt of appropriate documentation according to QRIC Policy.

RACE 1 DAENERYS STORMBORN (NZ) – under bar, LANSBURY – veterinary reasons

RACE 5 MILLY BROMAC (NZ) – veterinary reasons

RACE 9 PRECIOUS CULLEN (NZ) – veterinary reasons

All trainers with multiple engagements in any one particular race were questioned in regard to their tactics.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT – Saturday 02/12/2017 Alboin Park Race 5

Driver L Manzelmann was reprimanded under Rule 170 (1) for using his foot to activate gear in other than an approved manner.

RACE 1 –SKY RACING TROTTERS MOBILE (T0 - T4) 2138m MS

PLACINGS: HARD DONE BY, STONED AGAIN, STEVES STAR (NZ), OLE SUN (NZ)

A pre race blood sample was taken from GO AHEAD MAKEMYDAY.

STEVES STAR (NZ) (N Dawson) was out of position at the start despite the efforts of its driver for which a warning was issued. STEVES STAR (NZ) then raced wide in the early stages before being positioned leading the two wide line albeit racing in fifth position.

STONED AGAIN (C A Petroff), which began from two on the second row, pressed forward from the start to secure the lead leading the 1800m.

OLE SUN (NZ) (J Cremin) was held up for clear running until approximately 100m from the finish.

RACE 2 – KEVIN & KAY SEYMOUR RISING STARS CHAMPIONSHIP C2 / C3 – HEAT 1 (C2 – C3) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: JOSSIE JAMES, COVERT BEAUTY, THREE OF THE BEST, PARISIAN ROCKSTAR

SECTIONALS:  Mile Rate:  1.54.3     Lead Time:  3.5

A pre race blood sample was taken from THREE OF THE BEST.

ELENIARK (G Dixon) broke shortly after the start and as a consequence will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events.

ZENMACH (NZ) (P Matis) when leading the event shifted out in the back straight on the final occasion resulting in ERNIE BARRASSO (NZ) (L Cain) momentarily racing up to its inside however, ZENMACH (NZ) was able to be driven forward to be returned to a true marker peg position.

RACE 3 – KEVIN & KAY SEYMOUR RISING STARS CHAMPIONSHIP C2 / C3 – HEAT 2 (C2 – C3) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: STATEMENT MADE, PSYCHEDELIC, OLIVER WINKLE, THAT’S HOW WEROLL

On straightening for the run to the finish the sulky wheel on OLIVER WINKLE (L Cain) brushed the final marker peg before the sprint lane became available.  Driver L Cain was reminded of his obligations in this regard.

A warning was placed on PSYCHEDELIC (J Cremin) which hung in, in the home straight in the run to the finish.  As a result of PSYCHEDELIC hanging in both OLIVER WINKLE and BODHI TREE (P Greig) were tightened for racing room.

RACE 4 – MR FEELGOOD @ EGMONT PARK STUD PACE (C1) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: BET IM SPECIAL, JACKS AT THE BEACH, VANTO HANOVER, JANUARY

A pre race blood sample was taken from JACKS AT THE BEACH.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (L Cain) which began well to challenge for the early lead momentarily raced roughly racing into the first turn and was eased by its driver however, when regaining balance was driven forward to secure the lead.

RACE 5 – CHANGEOVER @ BURWOOD STUD PACE (C0) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: PARK LIFE, OUR MAJOR DAY, MAYTHEHORSEBWITHU, COULDNTBETOLD (NZ)

A pre race blood sample was taken from MAYTHEHORSEBWITHU.

The start of this race was delayed approximately two minutes so as to avoid a clash with a Victorian thoroughbred event.

HAPPY FEELINGS (P McMullen) which was caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field broke free of interference approaching the 500m.  After hearing submissions on driver P McMullen stewards stood HAPPY FEELINGS down from racing until it can satisfactory complete one barrier trial.

THE FORMULA ONE (NZ) (N Dawson) hung in and momentarily raced roughly on the final turn.  This resulted in COULDNTBETOLD (NZ) (L Manzelmann) being tightened for racing room causing its sulky wheel to strike a number of marker posts.

RACE 6 – PRYDE’S EASIFEED PACE (C1) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: IM NORMA JEAN, REGAL NIGHTSHADE (NZ), THE NEXT STAR, MY LADY LINDA

A pre race blood sample was taken from MY LADY LINDA.

The start of this race was delayed approximately one minute as moments prior leaving the pre race circle IM NORMA JEAN (P Grieg) threw its head which resulted in the lugging pole snapping.  Driver Greig sort and was granted permission to start IM NORMA JEAN without a lugging pole.

OYSTER STRIDE (D McMullen) was caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.

HE GETS IT (S Graham) after racing roughly on the final turn when wide on the track hung in under pressure in the run to the finish.

Driver D Graham was cautioned for the unapproved manner he used his left foot to activate gear on THE NEXT STAR leaving the 300m.

THE HARLEM HAMMER (G Whitaker) failed to secure clear running over the concluding stages.

RACE 7 – LUNCHBOX LODGE SPELLING FARM BAND 5 CONDITIONING PACE (C4+) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: LIKEALLOFUS, MURANO, MONUMENTAL (NZ), THE PACMAN (NZ)

Stewards approved variations in tactics on MURANO (N McMullen), to be driven further forward, and LIKEALLOFUS (S Graham), to be eased at the start.  Both horses were driven accordingly.

MURANO raced rough under pressure approaching the winning post.

RACE 8 – AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS CLAIMING PACE (CLM) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: MOHEGAN SUN, NUREYEV (NZ), SECRET SMILE, RORY MACH (NZ)

RUBYS BAD BOY (NZ) (A Sanderson), after being caught wide in the early stages, was restrained to a midfield trailing position approaching the 1300m.

RACE 9 – UBET CONDITIONED PACE (C2+) 1660m MS

PLACINGS: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET, GLENFERRIE BABY, HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (NZ), IMA TOP TYCOON

A pre race blood sample was taken from RIVERLEIGH ROCKET.

SIR REGAL DELIGHT (NZ) (G Whitaker) broke in the early stages of the score up and continued to do so for some considerable distance, resulting in the gelding being well out of position at the start effectively taking no competitive part in the event. As a consequence of this indiscretion SIR REGAL DELIGHT (NZ) will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events.
