Chris Lewis is now just one winner short of the magical 3500 mark after he got the Ian Hedley trained Chester’s Charge across the line at Harvey last night.
Only Victorians Gavin Lang and Chris Alford have driven more winners in Australia.
Lewis has a full book of ten drives (the 11th race is restricted to Junior Drivers) at the Fremantle Harness Racing Club’s meeting on Friday.
His best winning prospects appearing to be the 2008 WA Derby winner Argent Treasure in Race 2, Spirit of Navajo in Race 5 and fast-class star Scruffy Murphy in Race 6.
