The three major chances, A Touch Of Flair, Glenbogle and Whatsundermykilt, all came through the final heats of the SA. A Brilliant Blend. 2007 Trotters Inter Dominion Championship unscathed and look certain to fight out next Saturday’s $200,000 final.

Victorian speedster A Touch Of Flair made short work of his heat against main rival Glenbogle. Daryl Douglas drove a patient race aboard A Touch Of Flair, allowing Chris Alford to work forward on Glenbogle in the middle stages of the event before letting his charge work three-wide over the final circuit. A Touch Of Flair had too much dash at the business end and finished at the top of the standings with maximum points.

Chris Lang-prepared and Gavin Lang-driven mare Jauriol put in an eye-catching performance over the final 400 metres to finish third and will be one to watch of the front mark next week.

In the second and final heat, Whatsundermykilt gave his rivals a big start but managed to reel them in with another dazzling sprinting display. Kiwi reinsman Shane Walkinshaw looked to be in a bit of trouble 300-metres from home stuck last of the main bunch and caught in a pocket. But the young driver didn’t panic and poked through a gap four-wide on the home turn and sprinted strongly to the line.
