Quite differently from their pacing counterparts, the squaregaiting series stuck to the script with the punters elects winning both the Seelite Windows & Doors Inter Dominion Trotters heats at Moonee Valley tonight.

Glenbogle was a good thing beaten at Moonee Valley last start when third to A Touch Of Flair in the Australasian Trotters Grand Prix after running his rivals ragged in the Bill Collins Mile.

Despite contesting his opening heat against defending Inter Dominion Champion Delft, Glenbogle was sent out a $1.80 favourite. Delft worked around the field to sit lead the running line, but like a few of the fancied pacers, was found wanting over the concluding stages. Glenbogle and local reinsman Chris Alford were right there ready to pounce and stretched out for a comfortable 1.5-metre win, Viva La Fever broke in the shadows of the post but held into second place just in front of Tamra Dawn.

In the second of the squaregaiters heats another favourite was first home, as A Touch Of Flair continued his magnificent form to outgun his opposition. The flying machine showed he is going to be extremely tough to stop from his 20-metre handicap in beating Whatsundermykilt by nearly four metres. Flying Hardwick worked hard over the journey but held third place.

Current Points Table: A Touch Of Flair, Glenbogle NZ, 16; Viva La Fever, Whatsundermykilt NZ, 13; Flying Hardwick NZ, Tamra Dawn NZ, 11; Bonito, Motu Miss Anna NZ, 9; Backa Beyond, What Ever You Like NZ, 8; Code Of Honour, Uncle Petrika NZ, 7; Clares Brother, Summit Invasion NZ, 6; Blown Budget NZ, Delft NZ, 5; Jauriol, Tough Tussle NZ, 4; All Action Son NZ, Apache Blue Jean NZ, 3; Andandon NZ, Romper Stomper NZ, 2; Kate Au Penny, Contessa Hest NZ, 1

The trotters will be sighted next at Globe Derby Park on Saturday January 6 for the final round of heats prior to the $200,000 Final in January 13.
