The curtain officially came down on the 2005-06 racing season yesterday, but not before Kerryn Manning (pictured) reminded us all of her magical skills.
The 30-year-old, who has relinquished the Victorian and Australian drivers' premierships for the first time in six years, piloted four winners at Ballarat last night.
She also featured as the trainer of two of those winners, a performance that elevated her to equal eighth on the State trainers premiership with David Murphy on 68 wins.
The 2005-06 Victorian premiership winners are;
State Trainers - Peter Manning (144 wins)
State Drivers - Daryl Douglas (263)
State Concession Drivers - Greg Sugars (89)
State Female Drivers - Kerryn Manning (206)
Metropolitan Drivers - Chris Alford (32)
Metropolitan Trainers - Lance Justice (18)
Douglas, Sugars and Justice have all claimed their respective titles for the first time, whilst the remaining trio have all tasted success previously in their categories.
Kerryn Manning was the State's most successful reinswoman for the eighth consecutive season, whilst her father Peter won his third Victorian trainers premiership.
Alford's victory in the metropolitan drivers premiership was his seventh in total, but his first since the 1999-2000 season.
