As the name suggests the V75 Australasian Breeders Crown is a milestone event for breeders on both sides of the Tasman.
The addition of a Breeders Crown victory to a stallion's CV is immeasurable, not to mention the winning percentages that comes via the stakemoney.
As such the spotlight will be shining just as brightly on the sire of Sunday's six Breeders Crown champions as it will be on the owner, trainer and driver.
A total of 17 stallions are represented by more than one finalist on Sunday, with six of those members of the powerful Alabar roster in either Australia or New Zealand.
Alabar's Australian-based stallion Armbro Operative has qualified a series high five finalists with star two-year-old pacing filly Fleur De Lil the pick of them.
A group of four stallions will then be represented by four finalists apiece. They are D M Dilinger (Alabar) Safely Kept (Alabar), Christian Cullen (Wai Eyre Farm, NZ) and the irrepressible trotting sire Sundon (Roydon Lodge, NZ).
D M Dilinger will be pinning his faith in Dilinger Girl (3YO fillies) and Whipair (2YO colts), whilst boom two-year-old colt Gotta Go Cullen will fly the flag for Christian Cullen.
Ironically, recognised pacing sire Safely Kept's best hope of claiming a title comes via two-year-old trotters' favourite Donttellmehetrots.
Sundon's quartet will all line-up in the three-year-old trotters final, with the Chris Alford trained and driven speedster Conquer All the most highly fancied.
Albert Albert, Presidential Ball (Alabar, NZ), Troublemaker (Karamea Farms), Continentalman (Nevele R Stud, NZ) and Earl (Alabar, NZ) will each be represented by three finalists apiece on Super Sunday.
Earl features as the sire of defending Breeders Crown champion Galleons Assassin who is an odds-on favourite in the $80,000 three-year-old trotters final.
Of this year's 63 finalists, two-year-old trotter Just Glorious is the only one whose breeder has paid a premium nomination fee to contest the series because his US-based sire S J's Photo was not nominated for the Crown.
