A record number of New Zealand-trained horses headlines the list of qualifiers thus far for the 2005 Australasian Breeders Crown finals.

A total of 13 Kiwis were victorious in heats across Australasia with all bar three-year-old filly Now Franco set to continue their assault on the riches at Cranbourne later this month.

On top of this highly promising juvenile squaregaiter Galleons Assassin, a member of the Mark Purdon stable, arrives in Melbourne tomorrow to tackle the trotters’ repechages next Thursday night at Ballarat.

He follows hot on the heels of the former Geoff Small-trained pacer Dreamers Blue Jean who will debut for the Chris Alford stable in Monday’s three-year-old fillies repechages after she jetted in from Auckland on Tuesday.

Spearheading the Kiwi assault are reigning Breeders Crown champions Molly Darling (pictured) and Super Command, together with boom pacing colt Baileys Dream.

Following is a full list of the pacers that have qualified thus far for the August 16 semi finals at Cranbourne. The remaining spots in the semis will be filled after the two and three-year-old repechages are completed on Sunday and Monday respectively.
