WASBA Stallion Service Tender Open to 5PM Monday 10 September

The Western Australian Standardbred Breeders Association is conducting a Stallion Service Tender in conjunction with Alabar Bloodstock (Vic), Allwood Stud Farm (WA), Cobbity Equine Farm (NSW), Egmont Park Stud (Qld), Empire Stallions (Vic), Goodtime Lodge (Vic), KTC Bloodstock (WA), Tourello Standardbreds (Vic), Yirribee Stud (NSW) and Pinjarra Harness Racing Club.

This is a great opportunity for BREEDERS ACROSS AUSTRALIA to get an exceptionally well-credentialed stallion at a reasonable price. Tender is for the 2018/19 season. The 15 fantastic stallions available are:

 

  • Betterthancheddar USA 1:48 - US$1,636,086, Retired to stud the fastest and richest son of Bettors Delight. Won Breeders Crown, Cane Pace etc. Set world records on 1/2 & 5/8 mile track.   • Follow The Stars 1:53.8 - $707,237. By super sire Art Major from a Cams Card Shark mare. Multiple Group 1 winner. 19 wins and 9 places from only 29 starts. Dam a half sister to Western Ideal. ·Leading 2 and 3yo sire this season in Qld, top ten 2 and 3yo sire in Aust. Sire of Feel The Faith 1:53.1, Charming Allie 1:53.9,etc. Standing in Queensland.

  • Sunshine Beach USA 1:47.8 - US$977,438. World champion in his own right. Son of Somebeachsomewhere, second only to Captaintreacherous. From the great Golden Miss female line. Full US books. Oldest progeny 2yo in 2018/19. Standing in Victoria.

  • Tintin In America 1:53.2 - $906,422. Dual Harness Jewels winner. Breeders Crown Champion. Sire of Zee Dana (1:54.6 a world record for 2400m), Dior Mia More (1:53.2 at first start), Group 2 winner Divine State (1:51.6) & 4yo Shartin (1:48.4), the current top aged pacer and aged pacing mare in the US by season earnings. Standing in NSW.

The relevant state Breeding Scheme applies to each stallion.

Funds raised on behalf of WASBA from the Stallion Tender go into Stakes, subsidies and other incentives, broodmare credits and rehoming. All proceeds from Auckland Reactor and Sunshine Beach go to Pinjarra Harness Racing Club as part of Alabar Bloodstock’s sponsorship arrangement with Pinjarra Harness Racing Club. In conjunction with Alabar and Yirribee, all proceeds from Tintin In America (standing at Yirribee Stud) will be directed towards rehoming. WASBA strongly supports the rehoming initiatives and this will be the fourth year that funds have been donated for this purpose.
