The unbeaten Roger Whitmore-trained Resurgent Storm appears to have a mortgage-hold on tonight's Two-Year-Old Classic the Tasracing Dandy Patch Final.

The Betterthancheddar-Resurgent Star bay colt has had the measure of his opposition in through the Sweepstakes Series and the Dandy Patch Prelude.

"He's an exciting colt that can do plenty of work in the run and dig deep when called upon," said driver Ricky Duggan.

"He still has a bit to learn, he tends to want to switch off if he's on his own, but when he hears one close he really knuckles down to the task and responds like a real racehorse."

Resurgent Storm will start from outside the front row in the small field of five, but the draw holds no fears for Duggan.

"He has proven to be very versatile in both his trials and race starts in his career, I will just see how the others get away, I have no set plan at this stage," said Ricky.

"We went back at the start in the Prelude from the same draw and gave him some time to settle before going forward running to the bell, we got to second going into the back behind Jocund and then ran to the front turning for home and held off the smart Betterthanfetta, Roger has done a great job bringing him along in his first campaign so I know he will be cherry ripe for tonight."

The Tasracing Evicus Final looks a more open affair with the Rod Ashwood trained and driven Spoilt Sport likely to be sent out the popular pick ahead of the Paul Hill prepared filly Enterprising Milly.

The draw has been the deciding factor in their three clashes to date with Spoilt Sport leading the head-to-head battle two-one.

Spoilt Sport has proved victorious in the Preludes of both the Sweepstakes and Evicus but Enterprising Milly turned the tables in the $20,000 Elderslie Horse Care And Spelling Sweepstakes Final.

Spoilt Sport has drawn six on the front line tonight while Enterprising Milly will need to contend with being drawn two on the second row.

Tonight's Evicus and Dandy Patch Final's are the highlights of the Tasmanian Pacing Club's eight-event card which commences at 18.47 and can be seen on the live stream service at tasracing.com.au.
