Kerryn Gath and Chris Alford are no strangers to the history books and the duo are set to continue their record-breaking feats in the coming months.
The stars of the sulky, who have collectively won the past nine Australian Drivers Premierships, will soon post major milestones barring any unforseen stints on the sideline.
Gath entered today’s Horsham meeting on 1988 career wins and given her penchant for winners it should only be a matter of a week or two before the 28-year-old superstar becomes the first female to pass 2000 wins in Australasia.
After that, Great Western’s pin-up girl will set her sights on the world’s most successful reinswoman, German veteran Rita Drees, who recently clocked up her 2100th winner.
Alford, who turns 37 on May 18, is likely to become the fifth and youngest driver in Australasia to reach 3000 career wins later in the year.
With 2939 winners currently in the bank, he should join Ted Demmler, Gavin Lang, Tony Turnbull and recent inductee Chris Lewis amongst the elite group before the season concludes on August 31.
