The late Graeme Maher is being honoured at the famous Little Brown Jug Final Day (to be run tomorrow morning Australian time) at the Delaware County Fair.

In memory of the highly respected, late Junortoun based trots track expert, the Little Brown Jug race day program will feature The Friends of Graeme Maher pace over one mile.

“Graeme’s continual innovation concerning track design, track maintenance and track equipment will be his everlasting legacy to harness racing in Australia and worldwide. His affinity with the Little Brown Jug and the trotter is renowned, hence this fitting tribute by his USA friends and peers,” reads the tribute in the Little Brown Jug racebook.

In fact, the City of Delaware Mayor, Carolyn Kay Riggle, even issued a proclamation regarding Mr Maher that read in part: “Now, therefore, I, Carolyn Kay Riggle, Mayor of the City of Delaware, Ohio, do hereby issue this proclamation to honour: Graeme Maher, and encourage all that are participating in the Little Brown Jug celebration to remember Graeme Maher’s contribution to harness racing."

Mr Maher passed away in June. Read a tribute to the passionate trots man written by HRV’s Rob Pongho.
