Lauren Tritton set to make a return

IT will not be long until Lauren Tritton’s name starts appearing as a driver in formguides again.
The 23-year-old plans to be back on track as early as next month according to her husband, co-trainer Shane Tritton.
“Lauren’s hoping to be back driving in the new season as early as September,” Shane said.
“She’s had a few drives in trackwork and is very excited to get back.”
Lauren has not driven in a race since finishing second with Yayas Hot Spot at Tabcorp Park Menangle on January 7, 2017.
Shortly after this, it was announced that her and Shane were expecting their first child together and just recently baby Levi Shane Tritton was born.
“Levi is three weeks’ old and everything is going really well,” Shane said.
Despite having not driven in a race for eight months, Lauren is still ranked amongst the top 10 metropolitan drivers in New South Wales for the 2016/17 season.
Before putting the reins aside, Lauren had driven 38 winners and 27 placegetters in 134 drives this term.
And it looks as though Lauren will have another big start in the new season with the hopeful return of their Group-winning mare Arms Of An Angel and Yayas Hot Spot being nominated for the 2017 Inter Dominion in Perth.
“Arms Of An Angel is fast working and has had about three to four weeks of fast work,” Shane said.
“We want to bring her back slowly and hopefully be back at the races by October, November.
“As for Yayas Hot Spot, we believe he has done enough to earn a crack at the Inter Dominion this year and he’ll suit the Gloucester Park track.
“We’ve been trying to get there the last couple of years and hopefully they give us a shot as his form this season is certainly strong enough.”
Harness Racing NSW (HRNSW) is the controlling body for harness racing in New South Wales with responsibility for commercial and regulatory management of the industry including 33 racing clubs across the State. HRNSW is headed by a Board of Directors and is independent of Government.
