THANKS to her perfect draw, talented filly Arm A Princess should have no trouble breaking her recent bridesmaid status when she heads to Port Pirie tonight.

The Lance Holberton-trainer youngster has returned from an interstate campaign, which saw her finish second at each of her three starts.

This time around Arm A Princess will begin from the pole, with Holberton confident the feature race winning daughter Art Major can lead throughout.

“I don’t think she will have a problem leading as she has enough gate speed to hold her own,” Holberton said. “She is racing along really well and can certainly get back into winning form this week.

“It’s a good draw which I plan to make the most of.”

Following her pending engagement Arm A Princess will be aimed at next week’s Southern Cross heats at Globe Derby.

The three-year-old won her qualifier during last season’s edition of the futurity, but missed the balance of the series as a result of a race fall at Melton.

“This will top her right off for the Southern Cross heats,” Holberton said. “The series has been the aim with her since missing last year.

“We’ll just get through this week first and then worry about the rest after that.”
