HRSA are delighted to announce an increase in the Southern Cross win bonus for an eligible 4YO and a new bonus for an eligible 5YO or older horse for its first win in South Australia.

These changes are included in the recently announced conditions for the Southern Cross Racing Series & Breeding Incentive Scheme for the 2017-18 season.

The Southern Cross win bonus for an eligible 4YO will increase from $2,700 to $4,000 for its first win in South Australia, provided that a Southern Cross Bonus had not been won as a 2YO or 3YO.

In addition, a Southern Cross Win Bonus of $2,000 will now be paid to an eligible 5YO or older horse for its first win in South Australia, provided that a Southern Cross Bonus had not been won as a 2YO, 3YO or 4YO.

The 2YO & 3YO Southern Cross Win Bonus will remain at $4,000, after being raised to this level in 2016-17. Eligibility conditions for the Scheme, along with the structure of the race series remain unchanged.

This announcement reinforces HRSA’s commitment to strengthening the local breeding and racing industry. Full Conditions for the 2017-18 season will be made available on the HRSA website and from the HRSA Office.
