Results: Former champion racehorse Mr Feelgood is enjoying good success with his progeny

Former champion pacer Mr Feelgood is now hitting his stride at stud.

The winner of the famed Little Brown Jug and the Inter Dominion among many other features around the globe is enjoying great success this season in the breeding barn.

The Grinfromeartoear stallion is standing on the Darling Downs at Egmont Park Stud, the famed nursery owned by Kevin and Kay Seymour who also own Mr Feelgood in partnership with Peter and Zilla O’Shea.

Egmont Park was the former home of champion sire Fake Left, a horse that rewrote the record books of Australian breeding.

As it stands, Mr Feelgood is the leading two-year-old sire in Queensland with 8 winners while he is currently 4th behind super sire Bettors Delight in the three-year-old category with 13 winners.

Mr Feelgood has sired 12 individual two-year-old winners this season to date.

Feature race winners this season include Red Charmer in the Wayne Wilson Memorial Paleface Adios Classic and Bonnie Jujon who won the QBRED Triad 3yo Fillies Final.

Bonnie Jujon is a dual feature race winner.

“It’s fantastic to see the results coming his way; I believe he will become one of our best stallions to stand in Queensland. We all know how great a racehorse he was and now he’s transferred across to the breeding barn.” Seymour said.

And his most recent feature race winner is Tasmanian rookie Feelin Dusty, a winner of the Gr.3 $40,000 Dandy Patch Final at Hobart on Friday night.

Prepared by astute mentor Paul Hill and driven by Ricky Duggan, Feelin Dusty proved to be a decisive winner defeating Izaha and Pezzamystic in a time of 2:02.1 for the 2090m event.

Feelin Dusty is the only foal to race from the Modern Art mare Maybe Elite.

To date, Feelin Dusty has won three times from 8 starts while being placed in all other trips to the races.

And he’s amongst the contenders for the Tasmanian two-year-old Pacer of the Year award at seasons end.

A pair of new three-year-old winners across the weekend came via Bezzaboma at Albury while Happy As scored convincingly at Bunbury in a time of 1:57.8.

With the Gr.1 $100,000 QBRED Triad 2yo Finals scheduled for July 15 at Albion Park, Mr Feelgood could easily improve his seasonal stats with a number of contenders in each division.

His best performers on Australian soil include Charming Allie, A Good Chance, Feel The Faith, Nurse Feelgood, Fiscal Cliff and Big Gun Johnny among others.

He has four crops of racing age.

Mr Feelgood hails from the famed U7 Family which includes horses such as Silent Majority, Life Sign, Whats Next, Western Ideal, Art Major, American Ideal, Sportswriter, Panpacificflight and Captiantreacherous.

The female line includes Leah Almahurst, Three Diamonds, Fan Hanover, Remember When, American Jewel and Precocious Beauty.

As a racehorse, Mr Feelgood was scintillating winning 39 races on both sides of the globe.

Prepared throughout his career by the legendary Jimmy Takter in North America, Tim Butt in New Zealand and the McCarthy family in Australia and enjoyed tremendous success in each stable.

He retired with earnings in excess $3.36 million – the bulk of which was earned during his downunder stint.
