Nostra Beach's owners will be hoping for more success in the tonight's Vicbred heat.

A huge month of racing kicks off tonight with the start of the Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series at Bendigo, where Emma Stewart’s all-powerful team looks set to fire plenty of early shots.

The stable has 12 runners in tonight’s two-year-old pacings heats, a big play at what Stewart told Trots Media’s TrotLine was “definitely our favourite series of the year”.

“We generally have a lot of horses who come through the series and we’ve been lucky enough to win a few, so it’s been very beneficial to us and owners,” Stewart said. “The prizemoney’s very good and the heats are very competitive.”

The first heat gets underway at 5.32pm when Concealment, a “really honest” type who will “definitely be filling the placings”, begins Stewart’s campaign.

Of her chances, she also said unbeaten Nostra Villa “has the score on the board”, Liftntorque will “definitely find the front” and Big Bad Bruce is “one of the stable favourites” who will “be doing his best work late”.

Stewart also said Poster Boy was “probably our pick for the series” but had drawn poorly tonight while Australian Pacing Gold winner Nostra Beach “is definitely the class runner of the field”.
