One of the most popular winners of the night was Imprincessgemma for Kerryn Manning and Leroy O'Brien.
Kerryn Manning, Mark Pitt and Chris Alford enjoyed winning doubles on Saturday night at Tabcorp Park Melton.
For Alford it was a Group 1 double, scoring aboard two-year-old trotter Wobelee in the Empire Stallions Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic Final for juvenile colts and geldings and champion Kiwi mare The Orange Agent for Brian Hughes in the Benstud Queen of the Pacific.
FIND OUT WHAT THE WINNING DRIVERS HAD TO SAY
Wobelee was trained by Chris's wife, Alison, delivering her first Group 1 success as a trainer. And the whole family was excited as the young son of Down Under Muscles raced up the straight to enthusiastic cheering.
Kerryn Manning spoke of the jubilation of driving Imprincessgemma to victory in the $50,000 Group 2 Empire Stallions Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic two-year-old pacing fillies final for emerging trainer Leroy O'Brien, who paid a paltry $900 (plus GST) to buy the daughter of Village Jolt at the Shepparton Dispersal Sale. Surely a contender for bargain buy of the year.
