A sensational comeback from Arm a Princess

EXCITING filly Arm A Princess should have no trouble continuing her sensational comeback at Globe Derby on Saturday night.

Unbeaten from two starts since returning to the track, Arm A Princess is set to contest the Home Loans Gary Crocker BOTRA Final, where she has drawn barrier four.

The Lance Holberton-trained youngster spent months on the sidelines following a horrific fall at Melton last July, which was the result of being checked on the home turn.

Along with crashing to the ground, Arm A Princess was run over by a filly following her, while a second youngster crashed into her fallen driver, Jason Lee.

The daughter of Art Major spent three weeks at the Werribee vet hospital, where they operated on her twice.

She still has grit from the track behind her knee as they can’t get at it to wash or scrape it out.

Thrilled with the three-year-old’s form, Holberton has no doubt Arm A Princess can extend her winning streak.

“It is pretty special to have her back on a winning note,” Holberton said. “It was devastating when she fell with the thought she may never race again.

“I couldn’t be happier with the way she is coming along and she is improving with every start.

“She did a great job in her heat and will be better again this week for the Final.”

With the Southern Cross Series in July Arm A Princess’ main objective, she is also set to make a hit-and-run trip across the border within the next few weeks.

“The Southern Cross is the long term goal, so her campaign will be based around that,” Holberton said. “I also want to take her to Victoria for a suitable race to try and pick up her Vicbred bonus.”
